New Indian Citizens (Enclave Dwellers) Observes the 2nd Anniversary Enclave Inclusion into Indian Mainland

Webdesk, TNI Mekhliganj, 31st July, 2017: In the year 2015 31st July the Enclave Exchange Treaty was implemented. This day signifies a great importance to the lives of the enclave dwellers. For commemorating this occasion this day was observed as the second anniversary of Indian Main Land Inclusion at Dhabolsati Mrigipur and Kuchlibari Enclave. After the inclusion of this land, the development works is already started. These areas now have pucca roads, community hall, ICDS Center, electricity connection, shallow machines for irrigation etc.

Some of the works are completed and some are in the process. In the exchange process, a total of 51549 people got citizenship in both the countries i.e. Bangladesh and India. Most of the enclave dwellers took Indian citizenship. Only 979 returned to Bangladesh. Interacting with the New Indian citizens, they (Manglu Barman, Anil Roy Laskar, Holid Roy) said to TNI “We are now leading a happy meaningful life here.
